Today... a day for some summer sewing fun!

I have some new patterns to play with. Yesterday, while shopping for the fabric for class on Tuesday... denim skirts!  ... I picked up 3 new McCalls & Butterick patterns while they were on sale at the local fabric shop... M5904 Fairy Costumes;  M5993 Childrens Hats Mittens Scarves;  B4822 Handbags.

so...  today, I'm off to the cutting table and sewing machine for some sewing fun!

Summer Crafts for warm weather...

I do love to sew... but really need to be in the right frame of mind!  so lately, I've been enjoying my new pattern... just reading and looking and pondering it....  and crafting!  all sorts of things..  having fun with my pincushions, hair accessories & paper crafts!

fabulous party last evening & surprise vintage pattern!

 My wonderful husband and my sweet super model friend were holding out on me!  Miss Amanda found the vintage pattern and brought it over last evening.

You can imagine my excitement!  so now I will spend many joyful hours reading the pattern, buying the fabric, making a muslin and eventually making a fabulous dress. 

I'm impatiently waiting for the criteria for next year's Charleston Fashion Week and hope that I can fit my new pattern and several additional vintage patterns into the puzzle pieces to come up with a collection to show...

and I'm persuading Miss Amanda to be my model!  She started the party last evening when she walked in looking like she just walked off the runways of Milan. 

Please wish me luck as I languish in the sweet solitude of fabric and tissue, pins and scissors! 

I finally am the proud owner of Vintage 1972 McCalls # M3206!  .. been looking for a copy of this since borrowing it from a friend in 1973!

May projects have kept me very busy!

I've learned that it's more about enjoying the journey... the end result is sweeter when you take time to savor time well spent.
